In the 1990s the diet seemed to be rediscovered and became known as the Atkins New Diet Revolution. Since the reemergence of the Atkins diet, other low carb diets have been developed that are variations of it. The Zone Diet, the Stillman Diet, the Hollywood Diet, the Ketogenic Diet and the South Beach Diet are all based on the idea of eating fewer carbohydrates. They all advise eating more protein and limited carbs and inducing the body to burn its own fat.

Low carb diet plans differ somewhat in the amount of carbohydrates they allow, but all advise cutting out all white or starchy foods. The most strict is the 20 gram per day carb limit of the initial stage of Atkins, plus some of the other diet plans. Those people have just really taken the fasting stuff. With fasting you can make this entire process as seamless as possible to fit into your regular life. The basic setup is you fast for 24 hours straight and that can be from breakfast to breakfast, lunch to lunch, it could be from dinner to dinner,. You are still eating everyday but just for one 24-hour period, you are fasting.

The bottom line is that it doesn’t matter what fat burning diet you do as long as you enjoy the diet program that you’re on and it works for you and it suits your lifestyle and you’re happy. That is the most important thing.

I’m one of those trainers who are not like most trainers. I completely disagree with trainers that say diets do not work. I tbelieve almost all diets has benefits. I think you have to find the one that works for you. I mean, it is not the diets that do not work. It’s the people that don’t work. It is finding the diet that works for you.

I don’t know how often i saw people “going on a diet” just to gain back whatever pounds they lost afterwards.

So you seriously believe that eating “light bread spread” or eating grapefruit for a couple weeks will help you to permanently lose a lot of weight?

I can tell you what would happen: You start any of such diet, and with each day your craving for a hearthy chicken or a burger or a pizza will drive you mad! I myself probably couldn’t do it longer than a day or two myself, then I would just give-in.

Because the body is STARVING for the calories lost. Less sugar, less fat, more water. No thank you. After a few weeks you are done with the “diet”. Maybe you lost a few pounds, maybe you lost a whole bunch of points.

Well, it’s not a surprise. Because you didn’t really eat anything in that time. But now you are eating “normal” again and you will join the many and many of people on the rollercoaster ride. This time it will go UP again,  your body is missing all the good food. Notice the fallacy here?

Do Skinny People eat Diet Foods?

The other thing… and I am sorry I have to tell you that: Most skinny people don’t use any of such diet products, AT ALL. Skinny people are not all skinny and fit because all they do is supposedly taking diet foods and follow the latest craze about what was Oprah was talking about on her show a week ago.

They don’t. However, the diet industry wants you to believe that this is the key to losing weight, they want you to buy their special shakes and products. Don’t you think it is a little odd that such claims are made – while in reality the people without any weight problems probably never ever touched a “light” pepsi or bothered to substitute sugar in their coffee with a sweetener?

Furthermore, it can be assumed that an overweight person has indeed a higher calory “intake” as opposed to some skinny 120lbs cheerleader. Why then does the diet industry think that it would be good to reduce the calory intake for those overweight people – which would make it even harder for those overweight people- and much, much more likelier that they will gain back whatever pounds they lost after that one or two weeks of “diet”?

Many people are surprised to learn that the history of HCG diets goes back almost sixty years. Although HCG diets have gained widespread attention only in recent years, the basic research behind these programs dates back to the 1950s, and it originated in India.

Dr. Simeons Goes to Mumbhai

Dr. A.T.W. Simeons was born in London, U.K. early in the 20th Century. After the First World War, he attended medical school at the University of Heidelberg, Germany, where he graduated with honors. Following this, he went on to additional training in endocrinology at Swiss and German facilities, eventually taking up a post at a hospital near Dresden.

Eventually, Dr. Simeons developed an interest in tropical diseases. Over the next few years, this interest led him to Africa and eventually to Bombay (Mumbhai), India in 1931. Here he would remain until 1949.

During his years in India, Dr. Simeons studied the effects of malnutrition in expectant mothers as well as the causes and effects of obesity in patients with disorders of the pituitary gland. It was during the course of this research that he came to a startling conclusion about the nature of obesity. In his seminal paper Pounds & Inches: A New Approach to Obesity, Simeons wrote:

“…obesity in all its many forms is due to an abnormal functioning of some     part of the body and that every ounce of abnormally accumulated fat is always the result of the same disorder of certain regulatory mechanisms. Persons suffering from this particular disorder will get fat regardless of whether they eat excessively, normally or less than normal. A person who is free of the     disorder will never get fat, even if he frequently overeats.” (1954)

Treating obese patients, Dr. Simeons discovered that by administering low doses of Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG), a water-soluble hormone produced by the fetus during gestation and present in the urine of pregnant women, patients actually began utilizing fat instead of lean muscle tissue when fed a calorie-restricted diet.

What has been discovered since that time is that HCG is responsible for the regulation of the hypothalamus gland, which controls metabolism and the use of bodily resources such as fat. While all persons are born with an abundant supply of HCG, this is depleted by adulthood. Replacement of HCG corrects the imbalance and reprograms the hypothalamus to use fat stores when caloric intake is reduced.
